About Alkonost Air
Alkonost Air is a specialized aviation operator supporting missions across Indonesia (weather modification/OMC, disaster-response support, aerial firefighting, and patrol).
Our operations can involve rapid mobilization, high vendor volume, and time-sensitive spending. We need a Finance Manager who can keep the business moving fast while maintaining discipline, visibility, and strong controls.
Role Summary
We are hiring a Finance Manager to run day-to-day finance operations and strengthen the financial control environment as the company scales. This is a hands-on role: you will manage cash flow, payments, budgeting, reporting, and finance processes that support mission operations.
You will work closely with Procurement, Ops, HRGA, and Accounting/Tax function to ensure speed with traceability and proper financial standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Cash Flow and Treasury
- Own daily cash positioning, cash flow forecasting, and funding plans for operations and mobilizations
- Plan and execute payments to vendors (local and international), ensuring business continuity while maintaining approval discipline• Manage banking relationships, payment workflows, and payment security controls (maker-checker, dual control, access management)
2. Accounts Payable Controls (High Volume)
- Implement and enforce practical controls for procurement-to-pay: PO/approval evidence, receiving/acceptance evidence, invoice validation, and payment authorization
- Build a fast but controlled process for urgent purchases and mission-driven payments (including after office hour needs)
- Manage vendor payment cycles, dispute resolution, and documentation quality
3. Budgeting, Cost Control, and Mission Finance
- Build and manage budgets by aircraft, mission type, and cost category
- Track actual vs budget and provide weekly/monthly management reporting with clear insights
- Strengthen cost discipline for high-leakage areas: mobilization spend, travel/hotel, allowances, logistics, urgent procurement
4. Financial Reporting and Standards
- Produce monthly management accounts (P&L, cash flow, key KPIs) and explain variances clearly
- Ensure finance reporting and reconciliations are aligned with PSAK (and IFRS where applicable), and coordinate with Accounting for accurate month-end close
- Maintain strong documentation and audit readiness across finance processes
5. Receivables and Client Billing Support
- Coordinate with Ops/Commercial on invoicing, supporting documents, and collections follow-up
- Manage AR aging, payment tracking, and escalation for overdue accounts (as applicable)
6. Process Building and Team Development
- Improve finance SOPs, approval matrix, and internal controls as the company scales
- Coach and develop finance staff (AP/AR/treasury), set standards for accuracy, speed, and professionalism
- Work closely with Compliance & Audit to close control gaps and prevent recurring issues
Requirements (Must Have)
1. 3+ years finance experience, including 2+ years in a manager/lead role (operations finance, FP&A, treasury, or controllership environment)
2. Strong cash flow management skills and high comfort in transaction-heavy environments
3. Strong understanding of internal controls and practical process design (maker-checker, approvals, documentation discipline)
4. Solid knowledge of financial reporting basics under PSAK (IFRS familiarity is a plus)
5. Advanced Excel/Google Sheets (models, dashboards, reconciliations); high attention to detail
6. Comfortable working with accounting software (e.g., Accurate or similar ERP/accounting tools)
7. English proficiency for vendor and foreign bank communication and documentation
8. Calm under pressure, highly organized, and able to support urgent operational needs
9. High integrity and strong ownership mindset
Nice to Have
1. Experience in aviation, logistics, mining, oil & gas, maritime, or other mission/field-heavy operations
2. Experience with multi-currency payments and international vendors
3. Familiarity with budgeting by project/mission and cost tracking by asset (aircraft)
