Job description for Finance controller at French Chamber Of Commerce In Singapore
On behalf of one of its clients, in the energy sector, the French Chamber of Commerce is looking for a
FINANCE CONTROLLER
starting from mid July for a 4 to 6 months contract
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the successful candidate will play a key support role in the financial management of the Division, including accounting, treasury, tax, risk management, regulatory compliance & reporting, strategic planning, and financial forecasting.
He/she will also be involved in ensuring adequate management and performance of the assets in operation.
MAIN RESPONSABILITIES
Financial management
- Contribute to the overall budgeting exercise for the Asian Business Unit (all offices in the Asian region and the two operating assets) including controlling and reporting of ongoing OPEX, DEVEX, CAPEX and human resource cost management.
- Help BU management in making sure that the Group standards are respected, reporting deadlines are met and information flows between the Asian BU and the ID Headquarters in France is robust and seamless.
- Ensure financial control of HQ Singapore, including accounting, tax and payroll, though close cooperation with third parties and propose solutions to optimize taxes, cash flow management, and supplier relationship including contract management.
- Gather, manage and support the financial operations of all the offices in India, Myanmar and Indonesia, including the delegation in Japan (finance process, appointment of finance third parties, audit process, banking process, contract process…)
- Help CFO in managing the tax framework (transfer pricing, corporate taxes and personal income taxes) of all offices in the Asian region including interactions with the Tax Division of Group in France.
- Attend a variety of meetings with banks, developers, and financial institutions performing confidential duties related to business development and project finance, and assist CFO and business development team in managing these contacts.
Asset management
- Review and prepare feedback relative to the financial documentations of the investee company boards.
- Actively participate in the implementation of value creation opportunities across the entire life-cycle of the operating assets including tax and distributions optimization, FX hedge and refinancing solutions.
- Ensure consistent controlling of financial data over all budget/reforecast/actual phases, including reporting and getting accustomed to Group internal consolidation tool.
- Manage and complete at least twice a year the portfolio review with a focus on the financial performance and relevant profitability indicators.
Requirements
- Bachelor / Master’s degree
- Relevant internationally recognized professional certification such as ACA/CPA is considered an asset.
- 2-4 years of relevant experience in corporate finance, financial planning & analysis, or other related fields. Exposure to project finance deals is a plus.
- Strong working knowledge of Excel.
- Excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem solving skills
- Attention to accuracy and detail required
- Team spirit, autonomy and reliability
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Abreast of industry updates
- Fluency in English. French or/and any South-Asian language is considered a plus to liaise with HQ and other Desk representatives.
- Some traveling in South Asia could occur a few times a year for auditing/experience sharing with subsidiaries and Branch offices.
