Deskripsi pekerjaan Finance & Compliance Associate Kongsi
About Kongsi
Kongsi is building a shared freight platform for Indonesia.
Today, trucks often travel partially empty, while businesses shipping smaller loads can end up paying for an entire truck. Kongsi solves this by grouping compatible shipments together, improving truck utilization and making freight more affordable.
We are an early-stage, post-seed company building toward our MVP. You will be joining at the beginning of Kongsi's journey, as one of our first employees and one of the first members of our operations team. You will have a meaningful opportunity to help shape not just what we build, but how we operate.
About the Role
As a Finance & Compliance Associate, you will help own the day-to-day finance operations of Kongsi and support financial and regulatory compliance across our Singapore holding company and Indonesian entities.
This is not a role where you inherit an established finance function. You will help build it. You will be responsible for setting up practical systems and processes, establishing good financial discipline, and then running the function independently as Kongsi grows.
Because the role involves financial and regulatory responsibilities across two jurisdictions, we are looking for someone with practical experience, strong ownership, and excellent attention to detail.
What You'll Do
- Set up and manage day-to-day bookkeeping, invoicing, expenses, payables, receivables, and bank reconciliations
- Prepare monthly financial reports and maintain accurate, organized financial records
- Track tax, corporate, and regulatory deadlines across Singapore and Indonesia
- Coordinate with external accountants, tax advisors, auditors, and other service providers
- Build and continuously improve finance processes, systems, and controls as Kongsi grows
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 2–4 years of practical experience in accounting, finance, tax, or a related role
- Good understanding of accounting principles, financial records, and reporting
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and ownership
- Comfortable working independently and building processes where none exist
Nice to Have
- Experience with Indonesian and Singapore finance or regulatory compliance
- Experience working in an early-stage startup or building a finance function from scratch
- Experience working with external accountants, tax advisors, or corporate secretarial firms
- Comfortable using AI tools to improve reconciliation, reporting, research, and other finance workflows
What Success Looks Like After 90 Days
- Finance systems are established: bookkeeping, invoicing, expenses, payments, reconciliations, and reporting are running through clear and documented processes
- Compliance is under control: all key tax, corporate, and regulatory obligations are tracked with clear owners and deadlines
- Reporting is reliable: management receives accurate and timely financial information to make decisions
- The finance playbook is taking shape: you have established practical processes and controls that can scale as Kongsi grows
- Finance runs independently: you can manage the day-to-day finance function with minimal supervision and continuously improve it as the company grows
