Interior Supervisor
Job Description:
- Operations: Supervise day-to-day activities on interior construction and fit-out sites, ensuring compliance with architectural layouts and technical drawings
- Team & Subcontractor Management: Lead on-site labourers and specialized trade contractors, assigning daily tasks and tracking workforce productivity.
- Quality Control: Inspect workmanship regularly, identify defects or deviations from design intent, and coordinate immediate corrective actions.
- Coordination & Communication: Act as the primary link between project managers, interior designers, suppliers, and clients.
- Material Management: Monitor inventory levels, coordinate material deliveries, and ensure proper storage of finishes and fittings on site.
- Safety & Compliance: Enforce health and safety regulations, maintain a clean workspace, and ensure the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Documentation: Maintain daily logs, track progress reports, and record labour hours or material usage.
Key Skills:
- Blueprint Interpretation: Ability to read, interpret, and measure from architectural and interior design drawings, floor plans, and technical specs.
- Fit-Out Knowledge: Strong understanding of interior construction methods, finishing materials, and installation processes (e.g., ceilings, flooring, modular furniture).
- Software Proficiency: Working knowledge of tools like AutoCAD, SketchUp, or project tracking software (such as Procore or PlanGrid).
- Safety Protocols: Familiarity with local building codes, safety rules, and hazard mitigation on active sites.
- Leadership: Ability to direct, motivate, and manage a diverse team of workers firmly yet professionally.
- Problem-Solving: Capability to quickly troubleshoot and resolve on-site technical bottlenecks, material shortages, or labour disputes.
- Effective Communication: Clear oral and written communication to update management and coordinate expectations between designers and contractors.
- Time Management: Strong organizational capacity to prioritize daily workloads and keep the project aligned with established deadlines.
