Fashion Garment Merchandiser

We are looking for Fashion Garment Merchandiser responsible for overseeing purchasing, vendor management, and stock inventory processes. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in the fashion garment sector, having a well-established network of garment and textile suppliers, and strong negotiation capabilities. A passion for local fashion brands and proficiency in detailed reporting are significant advantages.

Responsibilities:

• Execute timely external production activities to ensure consistent product availability through efficient stock management.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors, negotiating favorable payment terms with both new and established suppliers.
• Identify, engage, and maintain communications with a variety of vendors, including SME-level suppliers and large-scale garment/textile manufacturers.
• Regularly evaluate supplier performance and analyze market trends to maintain quality, competitive pricing, and reliability.
• Maintain precise records and prepare accurate weekly stock and procurement reports using Excel.
• Collaborate closely with internal teams to forecast product demand and adjust purchasing strategies accordingly.
• Proactively monitor and manage inventory levels to prevent stock shortages.
• Oversee and ensure the timely transition of new collections into ready-stock inventory.
• Demonstrate a thorough understanding of fundamental tailoring principles and detailed technical aspects of garment production.
• Conduct trend analysis and forecasting to align product offerings with market demands and consumer preferences.
• Analyze sales performance data to inform purchasing decisions and optimize inventory management.
• Manage budgets related to purchasing and inventory, ensuring cost-effective practices and adherence to financial targets.
• Coordinate with marketing and sales teams to align merchandising strategies with promotional activities and campaigns.

Requirements:

• Minimum 1-3 years of proven experience in garment/textile merchandising or retail.
• Established network of garment/textile suppliers, both locally and internationally.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel with the ability to manage and analyze extensive datasets.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to drive a car and motorbike is advantageous.
• Availability to work from the office 6 days a week.
• Male candidates are preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively and negotiate with diverse vendor profiles ranging from SMEs to big corporations.
