Fashion Designer

Merlot Global is seeking a Fashion Designer with a strong creative instinct, refined aesthetic sensibility, and deep understanding of contemporary womenswear.

This role is intended for individuals who are not only passionate about fashion design, but also able to translate brand identity, customer behavior, responsible in every process from designing to ready to sell products, and market movement into compelling collections with strong commercial relevance.

Requirements & Qualifications :

- Bachelor’s Degree (D3/S1) in Fashion Design, Fashion Business, or related field from a reputable institution

- ⁠Possess a strong sense of style, silhouette, color composition, and garment proportion

- ⁠Proficient in design software such as Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, and digital design tools/tablet

- ⁠Strong ability in hand sketching and technical drawing

- ⁠Deep understanding of fabric characteristics, garment construction, fitting, and finishing detail

- ⁠Familiar with pattern making, pattern grading, and sample development process

- ⁠Strong awareness of fashion trends, luxury visual culture, and customer lifestyle behavior

- ⁠Knowledge in Fashion Marketing and Fashion

- ⁠Merchandising will be considered an advantage

- ⁠Detail-oriented, highly organized, creative, and able to work within timelines

- ⁠Excellent communication and collaboration skills across creative and production teams

- ⁠Willing to work full-time on site in Kiaracondong, Bandung

Job Responsibilities :

- Research and analyze current fashion trends, market movement, and customer preferences

Develop innovative design concepts aligned with the DNA and positioning of the brand

- Create collection direction including moodboard, color story, silhouette, and collection narrative

- ⁠Produce hand sketches, technical drawings, and design specifications for production

- ⁠Conduct research & Sourcing on fabrics, trims, accessories, and emerging materials relevant to each collection sample and production

- ⁠Collaborate closely with sample, production, and quality control teams throughout the development process

- ⁠Oversee fitting sessions and ensure garment construction, fit, and styling meet brand standards

- ⁠Translate customer insights, sales data, and market analysis into commercially relevant collections

- ⁠Ensure collection development and production timeline runs effectively and according to plan

- ⁠Present product samples with strong styling direction and visual presentation
