Our established freight forwarding company is seeking a highly capable and hands-on Logistics Staff member to join our operational team based in Medan, Indonesia.
This role is crucial for ensuring the seamless flow of goods for our clients. The successful candidate will be responsible for the end-to-end coordination of shipments, involving both meticulous office-based documentation processing and proactive field operations for customs clearance and final delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
Office Duties (Based in Medan Office):
Prepare, manage, and verify essential shipping and customs documentation with high accuracy.
Process customs declarations, specifically including Pemberitahuan Impor Barang (PIB) and Pemberitahuan Pemasukan Barang ke Pusat Logistik Berikat (PPKEK).
Prepare necessary documents, including Letters of Authority (LOA), required for the customs clearance process.
Maintain accurate records and shipment data within our logistics management system.
Liaise effectively with clients regarding documentation and shipment status.
Field Duties (Primarily at Port/Customs Areas/Job Sites):
Directly manage and execute field customs clearance procedures.
Accompany customs officers during physical cargo inspections, checks, and container sealing processes.
Actively coordinate with relevant parties at the port (e.g., Belawan Indah partners/terminal) to monitor and expedite customs clearance progress.
Arrange and oversee the final delivery of cargo, including coordinating trucking for loose cargo ("truck losing") from the port/warehouse.
Conduct or supervise cargo check-in and confirmation at the client's designated job site.
General Responsibilities:
Monitor overall shipment progress (air, sea, land) from origin to destination.
Provide timely and accurate status updates to clients and internal teams.
Identify and resolve logistical issues, discrepancies, or delays promptly and professionally.
Ensure all operations strictly comply with relevant Indonesian customs regulations and company procedures.
Qualifications:
Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, International Trade, or a related field.
Proven experience (minimum 1-2 years preferred) in logistics operations within freight forwarding, shipping, or customs brokerage, specifically involving Indonesian customs procedures.
Demonstrated experience with PIB and PPKEK processing is highly desirable.
Strong organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail, and excellent time management.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in both English and Bahasa Indonesia (written and verbal).
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook); familiarity with logistics/customs software is an advantage.
Willingness and ability to perform regular field duties at port facilities, customs offices, and client sites.
Proactive problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
Familiarity with Belawan port operations and key contacts is a significant asset.
