Engineering Manager
About the Role
We’re looking for an Engineering Manager to lead engineering team in building and scaling payment infrastructure for the high-risk market. This role combines technical leadership in payment systems, people management, and delivery ownership. You’ll be the bridge between engineering, product, risk, compliance, and business — ensuring our platform is secure, fast, and scalable.
Responsibilities
- Lead payment system architecture and development.
- Oversee payment modules including checkout, routing, settlement, reconciliation, refunds,
and chargebacks.
- Ensure system security, reliability, and compliance.
- Lead incident response and performance improvements.
- Manage, mentor, and grow a 20+ person engineering team.
- Own engineering roadmap, SDLC, and delivery.
- Collaborate with Risk, Compliance, Product, and Business teams.
Requirements
- 7+ years of software engineering experience, including 2+ years in an Engineering Manager
or leadership role.
- Strong experience with Golang, Node.js/TypeScript, PHP, PostgreSQL, and Redis.
- Strong understanding of microservices, distributed systems, APIs, CI/CD, and cloud infrastructure.
- Solid knowledge of payment processing, card networks, 3DS, fraud detection, and payment security.
- Experience managing engineering teams and developing talent.
- Strong English communication and problem-solving skills.
- Comfortable in a fast-paced environment.
Nice to Have:
- Experience in high-risk industries such as iGaming, crypto, forex, adult, or nutraceuticals.
- Experience with PCI-DSS, AML, payment orchestration, AWS/GCP, or Kubernetes.
