Butler Job Description (Hotel/Villa)
Position: Butler
Department: Front Office / Guest Service
Reports To: Front Office Manager / Villa Manager / Operations Manager
Job Summary
A Butler is responsible for delivering personalized guest service and ensuring guests receive a high level of comfort, convenience, and hospitality throughout their stay. The Butler assists with guest requests, room preparation, coordination of services, and maintains excellent guest satisfaction.
Duties & Responsibilities
1. Guest Service & Hospitality
Welcome guests upon arrival and provide personalized assistance during check-in and check-out.
Escort guests to rooms/villas and explain facilities, amenities, and hotel services.
Build professional relationships with guests and anticipate their needs.
Ensure guest satisfaction through prompt and courteous service.
Handle guest complaints professionally and report issues to management when necessary.
Maintain confidentiality and privacy of guest information.
2. Room/Villa Preparation
Ensure rooms/villas are clean, properly arranged, and ready before guest arrival.
Check room amenities, cleanliness, and maintenance conditions.
Coordinate special room setups such as honeymoon decorations, birthdays, anniversaries, or VIP requests.
Monitor minibar, amenities, and replenishment needs.
3. Personalized Guest Assistance
Assist guests with luggage, unpacking, and packing services if required.
Arrange transportation, restaurant reservations, spa bookings, tours, and activities.
Provide information about hotel facilities and local attractions.
Respond quickly to guest requests such as housekeeping, engineering, food delivery, or special amenities.
4. Communication & Coordination
Coordinate with Housekeeping, Front Office, Engineering, F&B, and Security departments to ensure smooth guest service.
Update guest preferences and special requests for personalized service.
Report guest feedback, incidents, or unusual situations to supervisors.
5. Administration & Reporting
Prepare daily reports related to guest requests and service activities.
Maintain accurate guest records and service logs.
Follow hotel SOPs, grooming standards, and operational policies.
Qualifications
Minimum high school diploma or hospitality-related education preferred.
Experience in hospitality, guest service, or villa/hotel operations is preferred.
Good communication skills in English (additional languages are an advantage).
Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
Well-groomed, polite, professional, and service-oriented.
Able to work shifts, weekends, and holidays.
