DUTY ENGINEER
We are seeking a qualified, experienced, and highly responsible Duty Engineer to join our pre-opening team for a new hospitality property in Berawa, Canggu, Bali.
The Duty Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the proper operation, maintenance, safety, and reliability of all engineering systems and facilities throughout the property.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee the daily operation and maintenance of all engineering systems and facilities.
- Conduct regular inspections of electrical, mechanical, plumbing, air-conditioning, water supply, and other building systems.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and technical issues from hotel operations.
- Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance according to established schedules and standards.
- Monitor and maintain equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operation.
- Troubleshoot and repair technical issues when required.
- Maintain proper records of maintenance activities, equipment conditions, and repair work.
- Coordinate with external contractors and service providers for specialized maintenance and repairs.
- Assist in monitoring engineering-related costs, spare parts, tools, and equipment.
- Ensure all engineering areas, machinery, and equipment comply with safety standards.
- Support the implementation of preventive maintenance programs and engineering procedures.
- Assist with the testing and commissioning of engineering systems during the pre-opening period.
- Respond to emergencies and technical breakdowns in a timely and professional manner.
- Ensure compliance with property SOPs, occupational health and safety requirements, and applicable regulations.
- Coordinate closely with Housekeeping, Front Office, F&B, and other operational departments to ensure smooth hotel operations.
- Perform other engineering-related duties as assigned by the Engineering Manager or management.
REQUIREMENTS
- Diploma or degree in Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in a similar position, preferably within a hotel, resort, villa, or hospitality environment.
- Strong knowledge of building maintenance and hotel engineering systems.
- Good understanding of electrical, plumbing, air-conditioning, mechanical, and water systems.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical problems efficiently.
- Good knowledge of preventive and corrective maintenance procedures.
- Able to read and understand technical drawings and equipment manuals.
- Good understanding of occupational health and safety procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Responsible, disciplined, proactive, and able to work independently.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Able to work flexible shifts, including weekends and public holidays when required.
- Previous hotel/villa pre-opening experience will be considered an advantage.
