Location: Jakarta, Indonesia
Reports to: Country Manager / Regional Head of Merchandising
Role: Lead end‑to‑end product strategy, assortment, pricing, inventory & supplier management for Indonesia’s value retail expansion
🎯 Key Responsibilities
1. Merchandising Strategy & Assortment
• Develop country‑specific merchandise plan aligned with Eco‑Shop’s value‑retail model, local demand, and group targets
• Build category mix, price tiers, and SKU list for Java, Sumatra, Kalimantan, Sulawesi; adapt to local preferences & seasonality
• Manage Open‑to‑Buy (OTB), seasonal calendars, and new product introduction/phase‑out
2. Pricing, Margin & Competitor
• Set retail prices, cost structures, and promotions to hit gross margin 28–32% while staying competitive vs. MR DIY, Indomaret, Alfamart
• Track competitor pricing, private labels, and discounting; adjust strategy weekly
• Execute markdowns/clearance to reduce slow‑moving stock & shrinkage
3. Inventory & Supply Chain
• Oversee stock levels, replenishment, allocation to stores/warehouses; optimize turnover & availability
• Monitor sell‑through, aged stock, and shrinkage; work with logistics for multi‑island delivery
• Ensure compliance with Indonesian customs, import rules, and labeling standards
4. Sourcing & Supplier Management
• Onboard local/import suppliers; negotiate cost, MOQ, payment terms, delivery, quality
• Build scorecards for reliability, pricing, lead time; resolve quality/delivery issues
• Liaise with HQ buying team for cross‑border procurement
5. In‑Store Execution & VM
• Implement planograms, shelf layouts, and display standards across all stores
• Train store teams on merchandising guidelines; audit compliance regularly
• Support marketing campaigns, seasonal displays, and promotional zones
6. Analysis & Reporting
• Weekly/monthly reviews: sales, margin, inventory, category performance, and forecast accuracy
• Provide actionable insights for expansion, category growth, and cost optimization
• Report to regional HQ in English
✅ Requirements
Education
• Bachelor’s in Business, Marketing, Retail, Supply Chain, or related field
Experience
• 7–10 years total, 3–5 years in Merchandising Manager role
• Must have value retail/FMCG experience in Indonesia (MR DIY, Aeon, Indomaret, Lotte, etc.)
• Proven track record in multi‑store rollout, assortment localization, and margin control
Skills
• Deep knowledge of Indonesian retail market, consumer behavior, and import regulations
• Strong Excel, ERP (SAP/Navision), merchandising tools; data‑driven decision‑making
• Fluent English + Bahasa Indonesia (written & spoken)
• Strong negotiation, leadership, cross‑team coordination
