About the role
Otazen is a growing furniture manufacturing company opening an opportunity for professionals in costing and cost estimation to join the BOM & Costing team under the Technical Department. As a Costing Staff, you will play an important role in producing calculations for production cost estimates, product pricing, and material breakdown based on design drawings from designers/Project Managers. This position requires deep understanding of furniture materials, production processes, and the ability to read technical drawings accurately to meet target prices and established deadlines.
Key responsibilities
• Create material breakdown requirements and product price estimates according to client requests, target prices, and established deadlines
• Update breakdown data in the Odoo system regularly and accurately
• Create and maintain material database, especially for new items or new hardware
• Participate in control/verification of breakdown and drawings to ensure materials do not exceed costing estimates
• Collaborate with the Technical Drawing team to share product specification information that has been costed before production begins
• Collaborate with the Marketing team to understand specifications and details of product requests for each project
• Actively coordinate with PPIC and Purchasing regarding material needs and technical material consultation
• Prepare work schedule/planning for the Costing team
• Create daily reports (engineering daily report) and participate in morning briefings with the TE Manager
Requirements
• Minimum D3/S1 in Industrial Engineering, Wood Engineering, Industrial Management, or related field
• Minimum 1-3 years of experience in costing/estimation, preferably from the furniture industry
• Understanding of standard material types in the furniture industry
• Understanding of furniture production processes comprehensively
• Able to read technical drawings and analyze construction and product specifications
• Proficient in Microsoft Office/Google Office; familiarity with Odoo is an added value
• Accurate furniture product cost calculation skills
• Good verbal and written communication, including in English
• Able to actively coordinate across teams and divisions
