PT. Bumi Terra Gaia (Bumiterra) is an Indonesian-founded startup that connects businesses to projects that directly remove carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. We are looking for a Conservation & Biodiversity Specialist to help us guide our project partners to ensure successful implementation of carbon removal through forest conservation and regeneration.
Expertise Team Responsibilities
The recruited and/or collaborated team shall be responsible to the following core points, which will aid the other teams in ensuring effective commercial application and implementation, notwithstanding and are not limited to, unless otherwise stated:
- Site and baseline assessment: Regular site visits with the founding team for key performance pillar measurements, quantification, and projections.
- Project scope & boundaries: Advising the founding team on project eligibility, boundaries, and risks, as well as determining methodologies, modules, and/or tools that are needed for successful implementation.
- Landscape and implementation plan: Advising the founding team on project area landscape planning in order, but not limited to, setting the site for successful implementation of all three key performance pillars.
- Monitoring plan: Assembling monitoring plan and working with the founding team to communicate strategies and other implementation tools to the local workforce.
- Project timeline: Advising the founding team on project timelines and other executables.
Application Requirements:
- At least a Master’s Degree from a forestry, environmental science or other relevant studies
- At least two years experience in field research
- Understanding and experience in carbon sequestration and removal processes
- A detail oriented person that is not afraid to go unreasonably deep
- Proficient in English and Bahasa Indonesia is a must
- An individual with more connections to relevant stakeholders and companies will be prioritized
