Coffee Roaster (Oman)

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Specialty Coffee Roaster to manage production roasting and maintain consistent coffee quality in a high-volume roastery.

• Plan and carry out production roasting for espresso, filter, and blend coffees.
• Develop, adjust, document, and repeat roast profiles based on roast data and cupping results.
• Operate commercial drum roasters safely and manage different batch sizes.
• Evaluate green coffee samples, processing methods, and physical defects.
• Conduct cupping, identify roast defects, and recommend batch adjustments or acceptance.
• Maintain accurate production records, batch details, and coffee lot traceability.
• Perform routine equipment checks and cleaning, and report safety or maintenance issues.
• Coordinate with quality control, warehouse, packing, and café teams.

Job Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of hands-on professional coffee roasting experience, with direct responsibility for production batches and quality outcomes.
• Experience in a specialty coffee roastery, preferably with both espresso and filter profiles.
• Proven experience operating commercial drum roasters; Giesen experience is an advantage.
• Able to explain how you develop and adjust roast profiles using data and sensory evaluation.
• Practical knowledge of heat application, airflow, batch size, first crack, rate of rise, and roast development.
• Experience in green coffee evaluation, cupping, and identifying roast-related defects.
• Able to maintain production records and work accurately under a high-volume production schedule.
• Able to communicate in spoken and written English.
• Willing to relocate to Oman.
