Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the BD team — setting market, partnership, and expansion strategy across WEI's creator network and brand-client portfolio.
- Build and strengthen WEI's BD system from the ground up — designing pipelines, playbooks, SOPs, and process improvements, since a mature BD system is not yet fully in place.
- Own budget/P&L responsibility for the team and drive consistent achievement of revenue and GMV targets.
- Develop and manage strategic partnerships, including senior and C-level client relationships across retail, FMCG, and brand principals.
- Coach, develop, and evaluate team performance; mentor Senior and Junior BD toward higher proficiency levels.
- Monitor industry, competitor, and platform dynamics (TikTok Shop, Shopee, retail/FMCG trends) and translate them into actionable strategy.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, content, operations, finance, and legal to align BD execution with company direction.
Requirements
- Minimum 6–8 years in business development/sales, with at least 2–3 years in a BD leadership or team-management role.
- Proven track record leading teams and closing high-value deals, ideally within MCN, digital/social commerce, retail, or FMCG.
- Strong understanding of the retail and FMCG landscape — industry dynamics, brand/principal needs, and how social commerce fits their go-to-market.
- Demonstrated ability to build systems and processes, not just execute — able to design and improve BD frameworks, workflows, and tools.
- Innovative and strategic mindset with strong commercial acumen (P&L, ROI, forecasting, deal structuring).
- Excellent leadership, negotiation, and executive-presence skills for corporate and C-level engagement.
- Adaptable and hands-on in a fast-growing, still-maturing environment where structure is being built.
