Role Objective:
This role is responsible for building and leading the Jakarta ground promotion pilot team, from team setup and territory planning to merchant acquisition and performance management. The focus is to drive merchants through the full process, from initial outreach to successful onboarding and first-order activation, while establishing a scalable operating model for city expansion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and manage the overall local promotion team structure in the Jakarta area.
- Divide the city into five territories and prioritize key mall clusters, with clear resource allocation for each area.
- Establish a merchant segmentation framework and define different approaches for standard merchants, such as Tier A priority merchants and Tier S strategic merchants.
- Lead or coordinate negotiations with enterprise clients, chain brands, and flagship merchants.
- Build local promotion SOPs, daily and weekly reporting routines, issue escalation processes, and review mechanisms.
- Manage Senior Merchant Acquisition staff and Merchant Acquisition Executives, and support hiring for key roles.
- Take ownership of citywide onboarding results, the 14-day first-order rate, and key merchant acquisition outcomes.
Requirements:
- Proven experience managing local BD, field sales, or ground promotion teams in Indonesia.
- Preferably experienced in F&B, food delivery, payments, SaaS, O2O, or retail platform merchant acquisition.
- Strong ability in team building, territory planning, performance reviews, and key account development.
- Able to independently lead negotiations with chain brands, enterprise clients, and strategic merchants.
- Familiar with Jakarta’s major business districts, malls, and commercial zones.
- Fluent in Bahasa Indonesia, with working proficiency in English.
- Strong results orientation and able to perform under the pressure of a pilot-city launch.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Grab, GoFood, ShopeeFood, F&B SaaS, payment platforms, or local services platforms.
- Experience managing a field sales or merchant acquisition team of more than 10 people.
- Existing network with local restaurant chains, mall brands, or key merchants in target areas.
