Client is a leading logistics and sea transportation provider serving coal mining companies across Indonesia. With strong operational capabilities and a proven track record, the company is now entering a strategic diversification phase, expanding beyond logistics into new high-growth sectors.
Job Brief:
The Business Development Director will play a critical role in driving the company’s diversification strategy into non-logistics sectors, including herbal, data center, and property. This role is positioned as a future CEO pipeline, responsible for identifying, evaluating, and executing new business ventures—from initial investment thesis and valuation through to operational execution and scaling. Reporting directly to the CEO and key shareholders, this individual is expected to operate at a group-level strategic capacity, managing multiple business initiatives and building new revenue streams outside the core logistics business.
Job Description:
- Lead and manage the company’s non-logistics business development portfolio, focusing on new growth pillars (jamu, data center, property).
- Identify, evaluate, and prioritize new investment opportunities and business ventures.
- Develop end-to-end business strategies—from market assessment, valuation, deal structuring, to operational execution.
- Work closely with shareholders, CEO, and cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and successful implementation.
- Lead strategic partnerships, negotiations, and deal execution.
- Oversee the performance and scalability of newly established business units.
- Provide strategic insights and recommendations at the group level to support long-term growth.
Job Requirements
Must-Have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or related field (MBA preferred).
- Proven experience in business development, investment, or strategic roles within holding companies / conglomerates / investment firms.
- Strong exposure to multi-industry business management or portfolio handling.
- Solid expertise in financial analysis, valuation, and investment strategy.
- Demonstrated experience in leading or building businesses (e.g., CFO, CEO, Managing Director, or equivalent leadership roles).
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to translate strategy into execution.
- Excellent stakeholder management and negotiation skills (board / shareholder level).
- Fluent in English and Bahasa Indonesia.
Highly Preferred:
- Experience handling or exposure to diversified sectors such as FMCG (especially herbal/jamu), digital infrastructure (data center), or property.
- Experience in turnaround, scaling, or building new business units.
- Prior role with P&L ownership or group-level responsibility.
