About the Role
KODA is looking for a Backend Developer (Ruby on Rails) to join our growing engineering team. You’ll build scalable backend services, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and contribute to delivering reliable, high-quality products. Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and improve backend applications using Ruby on Rails.
- Build and maintain secure and scalable RESTful APIs.
- Design, optimize, and manage SQL/NoSQL databases.
- Deploy, monitor, and maintain applications on AWS or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Collaborate with product, frontend, and engineering teams to deliver high-quality features.
- Debug, troubleshoot, and optimize application performance.
- Leverage AI-powered development tools to improve coding efficiency, debugging, documentation, and problem-solving.
Qualifications
Must-have
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Backend Developer.
- Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience with Ruby on Rails.
- Experience working with SQL/NoSQL databases.
- Familiar with Git version control.
- Basic knowledge of deploying applications on AWS or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Comfortable using AI coding assistants (e.g. ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude) to enhance productivity and solve technical problems.
Nice-to-have
- Experience with Redis.
- Familiar with Linux (Bash/Zsh).
- Basic knowledge of NGINX configuration.
- Experience integrating Payment Gateway services.
- Familiar with JavaScript or TypeScript.
