About the role
We are seeking an experienced Auditor (Asset) to join our Internal Audit team in Denpasar, Bali, on a full-time basis. This is a strategic position within our Finance and Compliance function, responsible for conducting comprehensive internal audits of our asset management processes and financial controls. The Auditor (Asset) will play a crucial role in ensuring that our assets are properly managed, accounted for, and protected, whilst providing assurance to senior management and the Board on the effectiveness of our internal controls and governance frameworks. This role is essential to maintaining the financial health and operational integrity of Taman Rama School.
Key responsibilities
• Conduct detailed internal audits of asset acquisition, management, maintenance, and disposal processes
• Verify the existence, condition, and proper valuation of physical assets through site inspections and documentation reviews
• Review asset registers and reconcile them with financial records to identify discrepancies and irregularities
• Assess the effectiveness of asset management controls, including segregation of duties and authorisation procedures
• Evaluate compliance with asset management policies, procedures, and relevant regulations
• Identify areas of risk and weakness within asset management systems and recommend corrective actions
• Prepare comprehensive audit reports detailing findings, observations, and recommendations
• Follow up on management's implementation of audit recommendations and verify remediation actions
• Maintain detailed audit working papers and documentation to support audit conclusions
• Liaise with operational departments to gather information and conduct interviews as necessary
• Contribute to the development and improvement of audit programmes and methodologies
• Stay informed of developments in internal audit best practices and asset management standards
What we're looking for
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline
• Professional qualification such as CIA (Certified Internal Auditor), ACCA, CA, or equivalent is highly desirable
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in internal audit, with specific experience in asset auditing or fixed asset management being highly valued
• Strong understanding of internal control frameworks and COSO principles
• Proficiency in audit software and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
• Excellent knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards
• Demonstrated ability to conduct audits independently whilst maintaining quality and accuracy
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to identify and investigate anomalies
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Indonesian
• High level of integrity, professionalism, and discretion when handling sensitive financial information
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
• Strong time management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple audit engagements
• Familiarity with educational institutions or non-profit organisations is advantageous
