Duties & Responsibilities
- Train workers in customer service, sanitation, and safety procedures.
- Ensure the punctuality and dress code of the service team.
- Ensure that the restaurant is properly set up and staffed for each shift.
- Ensure that all guests receive top-notch service and that their needs are met promptly and professionally.
- Monitor and enforce compliance with all applicable health, safety and sanitation regulations.
- Inspect supplies, equipment, and work areas to ensure efficient service and conformance to standards.
- Resolve customer complaints regarding food quality, service or facilities.
- Observe and evaluate workers and work procedures in order to ensure quality standards and service.
- Schedule staff hours, assign duties, responsibilities, and work activities to employees in accordance with work requirements.
- Schedule and receive food and beverage deliveries and control inventories of food, equipment, and supplies.
- Perform personnel actions such as hiring and firing staff in consultation with other managers as necessary.
- Develop equipment maintenance schedules and arrange for repairs.
- Present bills and accept payments.
- Greet and seat guests, and present menus.
- Work with management to develop departmental objectives, budgets, policies, procedures, and strategies.
- Monitor budgets and payroll records and review financial transactions in order to ensure that expenditures are authorized and budgeted.
Qualifications, Skills & Requirements
- Have at least a minimum of 2 years of experience in a challenging recreational, entertainment, retail, hospitality or food services organization.
- Managing one's own time and the time of others through efficient time management techniques.
- Good monitoring/assessment skills to evaluate performance of yourself, other individuals, or organizations to make improvements or take corrective action.
- Demonstrate proficiency in basic computer skills including email, word processing, spreadsheet creation and the use of online applications / website browsers.
- Be able to communicate and understand the predominant language(s) of customers and staff.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
- Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (in excess of 8 hours).
