ART DIRECTOR
The Role
As Art Director, you will lead the visual direction of Friends of Sally across all brand touchpoints. You will manage a small creative team consisting of designers and a Social Media Specialist, working closely with the Marketing and Merchandising teams to develop and execute campaigns, product launches, and creative assets that strengthen the brand and support business goals.
What You’ll Do
- Define and maintain Friends of Sally’s visual identitylookbooksetail stores, packaging, e-commerce, social media, and print.
- Lead seasonal campaigns and product launches from initial concept and mood board development to final execution.
- Direct photo and video shoots for product campaigns, lookbooks, and social media content, including talent direction, styling, and set design.
- Lead, mentor, and review the work of designers and the Social Media Specialist to ensure quality and creative consistency.
- Develop clear creative briefs and translate marketing objectives into effective visual concepts.
- Manage creative project timelines, budgets, and relationships with external agencies, vendors, and collaborators.
- Collaborate with the Marketing team to evaluate creative performance and improve future campaigns based on results.
- Monitor trends in retail, fashion, lifestyle, and design to keep the brand relevant and distinctive.
What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Fine Arts, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- At least 4 years of experience in the creative industry, preferably in branding, advertising, fashion, lifestyle, or consumer brands.
- A strong portfolio showcasing creative concepts, campaign development, and visual execution across digital and physical platforms.
- Experience directing photo and video shoots, including talent direction, styling, and set coordination.
- Strong creative conceptualization skills, with an excellent eye for visual storytelling, composition, color, and brand consistency.
- Proven ability to lead creative projects, provide constructive feedback, and mentor team members.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines while working effectively with cross-functional teams in Bahasa Indonesia and English.
Nice to Have
- Comfortable working with children and directing child talent during photoshoots.
- Skills in graphic design and/or video editing using tools such as Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Premiere Pro, or CapCut.
- Experience in retail store design, visual merchandising, or packaging development.
- Familiarity with social commerce and marketplace content, including TikTok Shop, Shopee, and Tokopedia.
- Understanding of AI-assisted creative tools and their applications in the creative process.
- Experience developing licensed character collections or collaborating with intellectual property (IP) brands.
