About this role
We are looking for an AI Context Engineer to join our R&D AI team at one of Indonesia's leading Category 1 Payment Service Providers (PJP). This role sits at the intersection of AI systems design, technical writing, and strategic thinking — responsible for shaping how our AI products understand, reason, and respond across critical financial use cases.
You will work directly with our internal R&D AI team to design, optimize, and govern context systems and prompting architecture that power our AI-driven products and services at national scale.
What you'll do
- Design and optimize system prompts, instruction sets, and context window strategies across diverse AI use cases
- Collaborate closely with the R&D AI team on LLM pipelines, RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) architectures, and agentic workflows
- Define AI personas, behavioral guardrails, and output guidelines aligned with OJK regulations and financial industry standards
- Conduct structured prompt engineering, model evaluations (evals), and red-teaming exercises to ensure consistent AI quality
- Build scalable context documentation, knowledge bases, and reusable prompt templates for cross-functional teams
- Identify and mitigate AI failure modes — including hallucination, output drift, and ambiguity — through context-level interventions
- Translate complex business requirements from stakeholders into precise AI context specifications
What we're looking for
- Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience working with LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, Google Gemini, or equivalent) in production environments
- Strong command of prompt engineering techniques: chain-of-thought, few-shot, instruction tuning, and context window management
- Familiarity with RAG systems, embedding models, vector databases, and agentic AI frameworks
- Experience with tools such as LangChain, LlamaIndex, or similar orchestration frameworks is a strong plus
- Exceptional written communication — ability to document AI logic with precision and clarity
- Understanding of data security and regulatory compliance in financial services is a strong advantage
- Professional proficiency in English
