AI Cinematography Planner

Motion The Agency is looking for a creative Freelance Director of Photography / Cinematography Planner to support our AI video production workflow.

This role will start as freelance, with the possibility of becoming full-time in the future for the right person.

We’re looking for someone with a strong visual eye, a good understanding of cinematography, and experience planning scenes before production. The role will focus on helping us shape the visual direction, create shot lists, plan camera language, and build storyboards that can later be used to generate footage using AI tools.

Requirements

• Strong understanding of cinematography, framing, camera movement, lighting, lenses, exposure, and composition
• Good artistic vision and visual storytelling skills
• Experience creating shot lists, moodboards, visual references, or storyboards
• Able to translate a script or creative brief into clear visual scenes
• Experience using generative AI tools for image or video creation is highly preferred
• Good understanding of cinematic styles, camera angles, lighting setups, and visual references
• Creative, proactive, detail-oriented, and open to feedback
• Able to work comfortably in English
• Experience in film, advertising, creative production, or motion design is a plus
  

Responsibilities

• Help plan the visual direction for AI-generated video projects
• Break down scripts into visual scenes, camera angles, and shot ideas
• Create shot lists, storyboards, and visual references for each scene
• Define cinematography direction, including framing, lens style, camera movement, lighting, mood, and composition
• Support the team in creating prompts or visual directions for AI-generated footage
• Review AI-generated footage and suggest improvements based on cinematic quality
• Collaborate with the creative team to make sure each video feels visually strong, clear, and polished
• Bring fresh references, visual ideas, and cinematic techniques into each project
  

Deliverables

• Shot list based on the approved script or concept
• Storyboard or scene-by-scene visual plan
• Cinematography direction for each shot
• Visual references or moodboards when needed
• AI video prompt direction when required
• Feedback notes on generated footage
