ADMIN FINANCE
ROLE OVERVIEW
The Finance & Accounting Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting the day to day operations of our finance department. This position handles routine accounting tasks including accounts payable/receivable, data entry, and basic reconciliations while ensuring data accuracy and compliance with financial guidelines. It is an ideal role for an organized professional looking to build a solid career foundation in corporate finance.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Data Entry & Record Keeping: Accurately enter daily financial transactions, invoices, payments, and receipts into the accounting software.
Accounts Payable (AP): Process vendor invoices, match purchase orders, verify approvals, and prepare disbursement runs.
Accounts Receivable (AR): Generate and issue customer invoices, monitor incoming payments, and follow up gently on overdue accounts.
Bank Reconciliation: Match bank statement transactions against internal ledgers to identify and resolve any discrepancies.
Expense Management: Review, verify, and process employee expense reports and credit card statements.
Administrative Support: Maintain neat digital and physical financial filing systems; assist with audit preparations and basic monthly reporting schedules.
JOB REQUREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS
Degree: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a closely related field.
Experience: 1 to 3 years of experience in an office setting handling administrative or basic accounting tasks (internship experience counts!)
Spreadsheet Proficiency: Solid intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets (e.g., managing basic formulas like SUM or VLOOKUP, data sorting, and formatting).
Data Entry: Fast and highly accurate 10-key data entry skills.
Attention to Detail: An eagle eye for numbers catching a misplaced decimal point or mismatched invoice amount before it causes a problem.
Integrity & Confidentiality: Absolute trustworthiness when handling sensitive financial data and payroll information.
Organization: The ability to prioritize tasks and meet weekly or monthly accounting deadlines without breaking a sweat.
Communication: Clear, professional written and verbal communication skills for coordinating with internal teams and external vendors.
