Backend Developer

📍Collaborate onsite with one of Indonesia's top banking institutions | 12-months contract

What You'll Be Doing:

You will help the team to design and develop scalable payment services! You'll build secure, high-performance microservices for card transactions, payment routing, and reconciliation, while collaborating closely with product, QA, and DevOps teams. You're responsible as below (not limited to):

• Develop backend services for card authorization, transaction routing, and reconciliation.
• Write clean, efficient, and secure code (with proper unit/integration testing).
• Build microservices for ISO 8583, EMV, and NFC (contactless) transaction processing.
• Integrate with payment gateways, card schemes, and third-party processors.
• Ensure PCI-DSS and data security compliance.
• Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and agile ceremonies.
• Troubleshoot production issues related to card transactions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable payment solutions

What We're Looking For:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 2–5 years of backend/software development experience in payment systems.
• Hands-on experience with Java (Spring Boot).
• Knowledge of card payment flows (authorization, capture, refund, reversal, chargeback).
• Familiarity with ISO 8583, EMV, NFC protocols (Good to have!)
• Experience integrating with payment gateways/card schemes.
• Solid skills in REST APIs, JSON, XML.
• Database skills (preferably Oracle SQL).
• Basic knowledge of logging, performance monitoring, and distributed systems.
• Exposure to HSM integration and key management.
• Experience using SFTP and CI/CD pipelines.
• Bonus: Background in Fintech or Banking industry
