Job description for Technician (Electrical Meters, Operations & Maintenance) at SP Group

What You'll Do:

Perform periodic maintenance and replacement of current transformer‑operated electricity meters at consumers’ premises in accordance with regulated key performance indicators (KPIs).

Liaise with Licensed Electrical Workers (LEWs), contractors, and consumers to facilitate meter replacement activities, particularly for meters maintenance, Solar PV transition and embedded generation installations.

Use enterprise IT systems to retrieve metering information and record metering activities through mobile applications.

Attend to and resolve consumers’ on‑site feedback in a professional and timely manner.

Support and respond to metering‑related work requests from other departments as required.

Compile and submit site documentation for daily updates, including liaison with operation support for data entry into enterprise system when necessary.

Perform any other duties related to the job scope as assigned by Supervisors to support operational needs.


What You'll Need:

Higher NITEC / NITEC in relevant Engineering field

Possess a positive learning attitude and willingness to acquire new skills.

Preferably experienced in a fast‑paced, team‑based environment with strong teamwork, while also able to work independently when executing assigned tasks.

Background in electrical discipline; hands‑on electrical experience will be an added advantage.

Able to communicate in English and articulate ideas clearly.

Familiar with IT and mobile solutions, and proficient in Microsoft Office tools (e.g., Excel, Word, Power BI).

Able to commit to work after office hours and/or on public holidays when required.

Experience in customer service or field support roles is an advantage.

Possession of a valid Class 3 driving licence is an added advantage.
