Job description for Tax Associate / Senior (GST) at BDO
Responsibilities:
Assist clients with the review and e-file of GST returns, simplified GST returns and Statement of Claims
Assist clients with GST health checks such as Assisted Self-Help Kit (ASK) and Assisted Compliance Assurance Program (ACAP)
Assist clients with the application for GST registration, exemption from GST registration, GST remission and schemes
Assist clients in managing tax queries and audits
Provide advisory services to clients on complex GST transactions
Provide support to engagement manager and work closely with team members to ensure timely and accurate completion of tasks
Contribute to efforts and take an active role in leveraging technology to digitalize and automate GST processes, improving efficiency and accuracy
Ability to mentor and guide juniors or associates, delegating tasks and overseeing their work in a team as a Senior
Requirements:
Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Professional qualifications such as SCTP, ACCA, CPA, CA are preferred.
Associate: Fresh graduates or up to 1 year of relevant internship experience in accounting or taxation
Senior: Minimum of 2 years of relevant GST experience in the Inland Revenue of Authority of Singapore (IRAS), public accounting firms and/ or commercial firms
Basic knowledge of Singapore GST legislation and regulations
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels
Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy
Proactive and ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating initiative and problem-solving skills
Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines
