Job description for Store Development - Executive / Senior Assistant (Japanese Speaking) at Daiso Japan
We are seeking a detail-oriented Store Development Executive / Senior Assistant who is proficient in both reading and writing Japanese. In this role, you will provide administrative support for various aspects of store development projects, including budget tracking, purchase orders, contract management, and supplier/contractor liaison.
Key Responsibilities:
Budget Tracking:
Assist in monitoring project budgets, track expenses, and identify any discrepancies or potential cost overruns.
Provide regular updates to project managers regarding the financial status of store development projects.
Purchase Orders & Quotes:
Help obtain quotes from vendors and process purchase orders in a timely manner.
Ensure that payments for supplies and services are processed efficiently and in accordance with company policies.
Cost Management Support:
Support in reviewing contracts and maintaining cost-related documentation for accuracy and completeness.
Assist in preparing reports on project costs and expenses for analysis and decision-making.
Supplier & Contractor Liaison:
Serve as the point of contact for suppliers, contractors, and other third-party vendors involved in store development projects.
Coordinate communication and ensure timely responses to inquiries or requests.
Contract Management:
Help organize and track vendor contracts, ensuring that contract terms are adhered to.
Monitor and manage contract expiration dates, renewing or negotiating terms as necessary.
Site Selection Support:
Assist in gathering data on potential store locations, including demographics, traffic patterns, and competitor analysis.
Compile and summarize site selection reports to assist with decision-making in new store openings.
Market Research Support:
Assist in researching market trends, customer demographics, and other relevant information to support the development team in strategic decision-making.
Help gather competitive intelligence and other insights that contribute to store development planning.
Supplier/Product Research:
Research and identify potential suppliers and materials needed for store development, including furniture, fixtures, and equipment.
Assist in evaluating product options to meet the specific needs of the store development projects.
Required Qualifications:
Min. Diploma in a related field such as Business, Retail or Merchandising.
A minimum of 2 years of administration experience is preferred.
Highly proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint with the ability to handle and analyse large volumes of data.
Strong organizational and administrative skills with attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Experience with budget tracking or cost management is a plus.
Basic knowledge of contracts and vendor management is advantageous.
Optional Qualifications:
JLPT N2 preferred for reading Japanese documents.
