Position Summary

NexGen Wafer Systems is a Singapore-headquartered semiconductor equipment company specialising in advanced single-wafer wet etch and wet clean solutions. The company develops and supports wet chemical processing equipment for semiconductor manufacturers globally, with a focus on process performance, innovation, and customer application support.

The Senior / Process Application Engineer will be responsible for developing, demonstrating, and qualifying wet chemical processing applications for semiconductor manufacturing. The role requires close collaboration with customers, R&D, engineering, production, and sales teams to optimize process performance, support product development, and drive successful customer adoption of the Company's wet processing solutions.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work as part of the Process Application team and serve as a key contributor in customer process demonstration and qualifications.
  • Perform customer wafer demonstrations, process experiments, and pilot production wafer runs involving wet chemistry on demo equipment in Singapore and at customer sites.
  • Optimize equipment and chemical process parameters using data collection and analysis techniques, including Design of Experiment (DOE), Total Process Control (TPC), and statistical analysis.
  • Support demo planning in Singapore by coordinating laboratory equipment and chemical readiness.
  • Document, develop, and maintain the process application library, including equipment data, wafer data, process results, and best-known recipes.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with design and development teams, including software, mechanical and electrical engineering, to implement new hardware and software features.
  • Perform hands-on equipment installation, upgrades, fine-tuning, adjustment, and troubleshooting at Process Application Laboratory.
  • Work with Production & Operations teams to implement new equipment product rollouts and qualify chemistry process recipes and applications at internal sites and customers’ sites.
  • Develop creative ideas individually and as part of a team; contribute to research papers, publications, patents, technical conferences, and symposiums where applicable.
  • Support technical documentation, including application notes, process reports, equipment documentation and other related materials.
  • Proactively support Company in equipment manufacturing, development, sales, marketing, and process application activities, as required.
  • Support Company in sales & marketing, process application to customer both proactively and if required.
  • Discuss customer applications and requirements with internal Company teams, and where necessary, external vendors.
  • Explore and develop new and novel process applications in wet etching and wet cleaning technologies.
  • Any other ad-hoc duties assigned by Manager

Your Profile:
Our ideal candidate should have hands-on hardware experience with industrial, technology, or manufacturing equipment, and be comfortable handling wet chemicals and working in a cleanroom environment.

Skills:

  • Results-oriented, customer-centric, with strong problem-solving skills and a hands-on mindset.
  • Good interpersonal skills, both individually and in a team environment.
  • Highly motivated to execute defined missions and strategies to achieve pre-defined targets.
  • Able to work effectively in an international environment with diverse cultures and colleagues.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in chemical engineering, Materials Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of relevant semiconductor industry experience, preferably in wet equipment, wet processing, or handling semiconductor industry chemicals.
  • Proficient in statistical analysis software such as JMP, Minitab, or equivalent.
  • Willingness to travel up to 30% of the time.
  • Strong communication skills, with fluency in written and spoken English; able to write technical publications and deliver presentations.
  • Well-versed in Microsoft Office.
