Job Overview

We are looking for a Senior Manager, Operations to lead the operations, maintenance, safety, and compliance activities within a railway testing and operational environment.

This role will oversee daily operations across testing tracks, workshops, and engineering facilities while supporting strategic and business initiatives together with senior leadership.

Key Responsibilities

Operations & Facility Management

Lead daily operations and maintenance activities across railway testing facilities

Ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations within the test centre

Drive operational improvements, maintenance planning, and asset management initiatives

Oversee resource planning and operational readiness

Governance, Risk & Compliance

Ensure compliance with railway safety, operational, and regulatory standards

Manage operational risk and safety processes for railway infrastructure and testing activities

Prepare operational and compliance reports for management and stakeholders

Team Leadership

Lead and develop operations and engineering teams

Promote a strong safety culture and operational excellence mindset

Coordinate closely with cross-functional teams on operational initiatives

Stakeholder & Business Support

Support collaboration with government agencies, contractors, OEMs, and industry partners

Assist management in business development activities, operational planning, and project support

Provide operational input for new railway services and testing projects

Requirements

Degree in Engineering, Transport, or related discipline

Minimum 8 – 12 years of experience in railway operations, train testing, infrastructure, or related industries

Strong experience in operations, facility management, safety, and compliance

Proven experience leading technical or operational teams

Good stakeholder management and communication skills
