Job description for Senior M&E Quantity Surveyor at SEPEC ENERGY SINGAPORE PTE. LTD.

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented M&E experienced Quantity Surveyor to support EPC projects, focusing on cost estimation, contract administration, and cost control across electrical and infrastructure works.

Remuneration will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Candidates with significantly relevant experience may be considered for a higher compensation package.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for EPC projects including materials, labor, and equipment to support accurate budgeting and tender submissions
  • Analyze drawings, specifications, and tender documents to develop comprehensive cost plans and budgets
  • Evaluate and compare subcontractor and supplier quotations to ensure competitive pricing and value
  • Perform quantity take-offs and prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQ) to track project scope and costs
  • Manage and monitor project quantities and cost variations to maintain budget control
  • Support procurement processes and subcontractor package evaluations for effective project delivery
  • Administer EPC contracts and subcontracts (FIDIC or equivalent) ensuring compliance and proper documentation
  • Assess variation orders, claims, and change requests to manage contractual obligations and risks
  • Handle cost and commercial aspects of electrical systems including power distribution (LV/MV/HV), substations, grid interconnection, cable routing, and installation
  • Support cost management for renewable energy projects, particularly solar PV farms, including modules, inverters, mounting structures, and infrastructure
  • Coordinate closely with engineering and project teams to align cost control with project progress
  • Monitor project costs, prepare forecasts, progress claims, payment certifications, and financial reports to ensure financial accuracy
  • Identify commercial risks and recommend mitigation strategies to protect project profitability

Preferred competencies and qualifications

  • Exposure to renewable energy projects such as solar PV and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)
  • Experience with regional EPC projects to support cross-border operations
  • Knowledge of utility or grid-related works to enhance project scope understanding
  • Experience handling electrical scope within quantity surveying tasks
