Job description for Senior Accounts Executive at STARRY HOME PTE. LTD.

Starry Home Pte. Ltd. (Formerly known as Starry Homestead Pte Ltd) is looking for a meticulous, responsible, and experienced Senior Accounts Executive to join our Accounts team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the full set of accounts, including inter-company accounting, financial reporting, statutory compliance, budgeting, and audit matters. This role is suitable for someone who is proactive, detail-oriented, and confident in handling end-to-end accounting functions while supporting process improvements and internal controls.

You will also work closely with external auditors, tax agents, banks, corporate secretaries, government authorities, and internal stakeholders to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with Singapore statutory and regulatory requirements.


Key Responsibilities

Handle the full set of accounts for the company and related inter-companies.

Assist in the preparation of monthly management reports and financial analysis.

Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and adjustments.

Oversee accounts receivable and accounts payable functions, ensuring timely billing, collections, payments, and follow-ups.

Ensure accurate and timely submission of GST, annual tax returns, and other statutory filings.

Prepare audit schedules and attend to queries raised by external auditors.

Review tax computations and liaise with tax agents on corporate tax matters.

Assist in the preparation of budgets, annual forecasts, and financial planning reports.

Liaise with external auditors, tax agents, banks, corporate secretaries, and government authorities to ensure full compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.

Review, implement, and improve accounting workflows, internal controls, financial processes, and company policies.

Provide guidance, advice, and support to the Accounts team where required.

Respond to vendor and stakeholder inquiries relating to accounting and payment matters.

Support management with financial information, reports, and ad hoc assignments as required.


Requirements

Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.

Proven experience in handling a full set of accounts.

Strong knowledge of Singapore Financial Reporting Standards, GST regulations, tax filing requirements, and statutory compliance.

Proficient in Xero accounting software and Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.

Good understanding of accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, reconciliations, and month-end closing processes.

Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Meticulous, responsible, and able to meet deadlines with minimal supervision.

Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with auditors, tax agents, banks, vendors, and internal stakeholders.

Able to work independently while also contributing as part of a team.


Preferred Skills

Prior experience in the interior design, renovation, construction, or project-based industry will be an advantage.

Experience in reviewing and improving accounting workflows, internal controls, and financial reporting processes.

Ability to guide junior team members and support team development.

Familiarity with project costing, inter-company transactions, and multi-entity accounting will be beneficial.
