Job Title: Retail Operations Manager – Eyewear Brand

Location: Tanjong Pagar (3-minute walk from MRT)

Salary: SGD 6,000 – SGD 7,000 per month

Company Overview

Our client is an expanding organization managing operations in Singapore, encompassing both wholesale and retail entities. We are currently seeking a dedicated Retail Operations Manager to lead the local business, support daily operations, and drive sustainable growth.

Job Responsibilities

Own the full financial performance of the business, including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow management, ensuring sustainable profitability and liquidity.

Lead multi-store retail operations (10+ stores).

Drive sales growth, profitability improvement, and cost control.

Develop and manage the annual budget and forecasting.

Manage finance operations including accounting, closing, and compliance, leveraging external partners or internal resources as appropriate.

Execute merchandising (MD) and marketing strategies in alignment with direction from Japan HQ, while proactively adapting them to local market needs.

Lead the store expansion strategy including site selection and lease negotiations (preferred).

Manage relationships with developers/landlords and external partners.

Lead and manage the entire local team (stores and office).

Oversee the hiring, evaluation, and development of staff.

Communicate effectively with Japan HQ.

Execute local strategy aligned with HQ direction.

Initial Phase Expectation: The Retail Operations Manager is expected to work closely with HQ and leverage internal support functions initially, gradually transitioning toward full independent leadership.

Requirements

Proven retail management experience (mandatory).

Experience managing 10+ stores with strong financial responsibility, including P&L and exposure to balance sheet and cash flow management.

Strong understanding of store operations and frontline challenges.

Experience in budgeting, cost control, and performance management.

Experience developing merchandising (MD) and marketing strategies.

Ability to adapt to Japanese corporate culture and processes.

Leasing experience is a strong advantage.

Language Requirement: Japanese or Chinese language proficiency is mandatory to communicate closely with directors at Japan HQ.
