Job description for QAQC Engineer - 5 Days at Ieg Oilfield Services
Position Summary
A QA (Quality Assurance) Engineer in the manufacturingindustry is responsible for ensuring that products, materials, fabricationprocesses, and final deliverables meet company standards, customerspecifications, industry codes, and regulatory requirements. The role worksclosely with production, welding, fabrication, planning, and clients tomaintain product quality and continuous improvement.
Main Responsibilities
1. Quality Inspection & Control
- Conduct incoming, in-process, and final inspections of materials and fabricated products.
- Understand which dimensions are critical for verification
- Ensure products comply with approved drawings, specifications, and standards.
- Identify defects, non-conformance, and quality deviations.
- Provide QAQC Solution
2. Documentation & Reporting
- Prepare and maintain quality records, inspection reports, and checklists.
- Compile QA/QC documentation for projects and client submission.
- Maintain traceability records for materials and components.
- Prepare NCR (Non-Conformance Report) and corrective action reports.
- Update welding records, inspection logs, and quality status reports.
- Prepare COC report for billing
3. Welding & Fabrication Quality Control
- Request and submit of welders’ qualifications.
- Coordinate NDT activities such as:
- Visual Inspection (VT)
- Magnetic Particle Test (MT)
- Dye Penetrant Test (PT)
- Ultrasonic Test (UT)
- Radiographic Test (RT)
- Ensure fabricated structures meet required tolerance and code requirements.
- Monitor calibration of measuring instruments.
4. Standards & Compliance
- Participate in internal and external quality audits.
- Assist in maintaining company QA/QC systems and procedures.
5. Root Cause Analysis & Improvement
- Investigate quality issues and customer complaints.
- Work with production teams to reduce rejection and rework rates.
6. Coordination & Communication
- Coordinate with:
- QAQC Inspectors
- Project coordinators
- Clients
- Third-party inspection bodies
- Arrange inspections and testing schedules.
- Attend project meetings and quality discussions.
Required Skills & Knowledge
- Understanding of fabrication and manufacturing processes.
- Knowledge of welding inspection and NDT methods.
- Familiar with ISO standards and QA/QC procedures.
- Ability to read technical drawings and specifications.
- Good problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong documentation and reporting ability.
- Communication and coordination skills.
