Job description for Project Engineer - Mechanical & Electrical at L-QUBE PTE. LTD.

The Project Engineer is responsible for planning, coordinating, executing, commissioning, and overseeing engineering projects from initiation to completion. The role involves managing site activities and coordinating with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with technical specifications and quality standards.

The Project Engineer will also play a pivotal role in the implementation and delivery of projects related to Air Conditioning and Mechanical Ventilation (ACMV) systems, energy-consuming systems, energy efficiency improvement initiatives, and environmental sustainability solutions.

Duties and responsibilities:

1. Responsible for the execution and overall progress of project contracts

2. Monitor installation progress and coordinate with clients, consultants, and sub-contractors to ensure efficient and timely project delivery

3. Provide daily reports of work status/project progress to the Project Manager and track project milestones

4. Supervise works to ensure compliance with contract drawings, specifications and quality standards

5. Ensure site work is on schedule and according to the scope of contract

6. Prepare, review, and submit safety documents including Risk Assessment (RA), Method of Statement (MOS), Safe Work Procedure (SWP), shop drawings, catalogues, technical data, testing & commissioning (T&C) check sheets, progress reports and related project documentation for M&E works

7. Coordinate with sub-contractors and consultants on shop drawing preparation and submissions

8. Prepare and coordinate technical submissions with suppliers and subcontractors

9. Support the Project Manager in resources planning, procurement and negotiation of materials, equipment, and manpower within the allocated approved budget

10. Conduct technical discussions with stakeholders to resolve site and engineering issues

11. Liaise with authorities, sub-contractors, and clients on shop drawings/equipment/technical data submissions, inspections, testing and commissioning requirements

12. Perform any other duties assigned by the Management

13. Resolve project conflicts and attend site coordination meetings

14. Work closely with the project teams or sub-contractor to maintain quality control on M&E works

15. Verify coordination drawings, as-built drawings and project documentation

16. Assist in progress claims, variation orders, cost tracking, and project reporting to clients and consultants

17. Conduct operation and maintenance training to clients before project handover

Required Skills, Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree/Post Graduate Diploma/Professional Degree in Engineering (Mechanical and/or Electrical), Project & Facilities Management, Building Services Engineering or equivalent

• Diploma holders with relevant Facilities Management, M&E experience are also welcome to apply

• 5 years of relevant working experience in managing projects related to:

- Mechanical: Familiar with Variable Air Volume (VAV) / Variable Refrigerant Volume (VRV) / Cooling Tower / Chillers / Chilled Water Pipe / Addition & Alteration (A&A) works

- Electrical: Familiar with Retrofit / A&A works / Local Motor Control Panel (LMCP) / Motor Control Center (MCC) Panel / Building Management System (BMS)

• Good knowledge of M&E coordination and project execution

• Electrical and Air Conditioning and Mechanical Ventilation (ACMV) design capability will be an added advantage

• Strong leadership, coordination, and problem-solving skills

• Positive attitude, committed, and able to manage projects independently

• Good team player with the ability to lead and multi-task in a fast-paced environment

• Good interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels

• Good presentation skills

• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and AutoCAD

• Able to perform hands-on site work when required
