Job description for Product Designer (Souvenir / Custom Gift Design) at PT Abadi Sejahtera Finansindo (Head Office)
We're currently looking for a Product Designer for one of our sister company in Tangerang.
Responsibilities
Design custom souvenirs (e.g., acrylic engravings, wooden organizers) and produce visual renderings.
Draw inspiration from Indonesia's rich local culture (e.g., Bali's Instagrammable spots, Yogyakarta's ancient architecture and temples, Javanese batik and puppetry, Sumatran architecture and textile patterns, as well as distinctive flowers, plants, animals, and marine elements from various islands). Creatively blend these with customer stories (couples, weddings, travel memories, family celebrations) to create unique design narratives.
Handle the full design process from concept sketching and digital modeling to final renderings, ensuring the design is feasible for laser engraving, woodworking, and other production processes.
Help create contextual product renderings (with candles, fabrics, natural flowers, etc.) to boost visual appeal.
Refine designs based on market feedback, keeping the product style consistent, artistic, and commercially viable.
Requirements
Education: Bachelor's degree or higher in Fine Arts, Product Design, Visual Communication, Engraving Arts, etc. Fresh graduates preferred.
Proficient in design software (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Blender, Keyshot) to produce detailed drawings and 3D modeling/rendering.
Good sense of material and lighting – able to accurately represent the texture and transparency of acrylic, wood, metal, etc.
Strong illustration and graphic design skills – able to turn natural scenes (beaches, sunsets, vegetation) into simple, emotional line patterns.
Aesthetic & cultural understanding
Passion for Balinese and Indonesian local culture – familiar with its architecture, plants, color schemes, and romantic atmospheres.
Sensitivity to "narrative in souvenirs" – able to convey emotions like love, travel, or celebration through design.
Personal qualities
Detail‑oriented, able to balance artistic beauty with production feasibility.
Good communication skills to understand client needs and turn them into visual solutions.
Team player, willing to learn and grow in a fast‑paced environment.
Nice to have
Hands‑on experience with handicrafts, laser engraving, woodworking, or related processes.
Portfolio includes cultural souvenirs, gift design, or contextual rendering projects.
Familiarity with local Indonesian art styles (e.g., Balinese carving, batik patterns).
What we offer
Paid training in laser engraving technology, material properties, and production basics.
Opportunities to work with local artisans and gain deep understanding of combining traditional crafts with modern design.
Involved in full projects from concept to finished product – gain experience in the high‑end custom gift industry.
Base salary 7‑10 million IDR + benefits (health insurance, 13th month salary, weekends off).
