Core Responsibilities
Financial Accounting & Reporting
* Data entry of transactions (AP/AR) into accounting system to ensure accurate and timely month-end and year-end closing.
* Help maintain documentation and filing systems.
* Prepare and submit monthly financial reports to relevant reporting authorities and stakeholders.
* Manage the mosque’s fixed asset register and ensure proper depreciation accounting.
Fund & Donation Management
* Oversee the recording and reconciliation of diverse income streams, including Zakat, donation boxes, digital platforms (PayLah/PayNow), and fundraising campaigns.
* Manage the collection system for weekend madrasah operations, including GIRO processing and follow-up on arrears.
Governance & Compliance
* Ensure all financial transactions strictly adhere to MUIS Mosque Financial Regulations.
* Liaise with external auditors and provide necessary documentation for the annual statutory audit.
Administrative Support
* Administrative support for mosque events and programs, and for mosque fundraising initiatives
* Provide ad-hoc support to Mosque Manager when needed
Key Skills & Requirements
* Education: Diploma in Accountancy, Finance, Banking, or related field.
* Experience: 1-3 years of accounting experience. Experience in a non-profit or religious institution is an advantage.
* Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and advanced MS Excel/Google Sheets.
* Familiarity with online banking platforms (e.g., OCBC Velocity, DBS IDEAL).
* Strong ethics in handling public and religious funds.
* High level of accuracy in managing large volumes of transactions.
* Ability to work well with management and community volunteers.
