Job Scope :
Project Phase (Initial Role):
Support the HVAC Engineers during the installation, configuration, and commissioning of HVAC equipment, cleanrooms, refrigeration systems (cold rooms, fridges and freezers) and clean air devices (LAF, DFB, Passbox),
Assist with equipment setup, testing, and troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and process-related issues during installation.
Collaborate with engineers and contractors to ensure equipment and systems meet design specifications and project timelines.
Collect and document technical data required for project validation and qualification protocols (IQ/OQ/PQ).
Support initial inspections and performance testing to verify proper equipment function prior to handover.
Monitor work progress against project schedules and report any delays or resource issues observed in the field.
Assist in the collection and entry of technical data for maintenance plans, asset records, and operational documentation.
Support the setup of PM (Preventive Maintenance) templates and maintenance plans where required.
Collaborate closely with BU/CU engineers, electrical engineers, and other stakeholders (e.g. Users) ensuring seamless operation and functionality.
Operation Phase (Primary Role):
Perform troubleshooting and resolve HVAC equipment issues to minimize downtime and ensure smooth production.
Monitor system performance through routine trending and data analysis to ensure environmental conditions consistently meet cleanroom requirements or equipment acceptance criteria.
Execute routine inspections, perform preventive maintenance, and verify equipment performance to ensure compliance and reliability.
Ensure scheduled maintenance work orders are completed timely.
Contribute to optimization initiatives to improve on energy efficiency, system reliability, and sustainability.
Utilize the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS, e.g., Maximo) to update and maintain accurate job records, maintenance history, calibration certificates, work orders, and generate reports.
Assist in developing and continuously improving preventive maintenance SOPs and work instructions and training materials related to HVAC system operation and maintenance.
Assist in developing safety risk assessments and method statements related to HVAC systems.
Complete all required technical training to enhance skills and competencies.
Inspect and verify the quality and condition of incoming spare parts and maintenance tools before use.
Provide mentorship and training to junior technicians on operational procedures and troubleshooting best practices.
Ensure adherence to GMP, safety, and quality standards in all operational activities.
Participate in change control processes, root cause analysis, and incident investigations related to equipment and process deviations.
Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, and QA teams to ensure maintenance and operation of HVAC systems are aligned with production needs, safety requirements, and environmental monitoring strategies.
Perform additional duties assigned by the HVAC Engineers to ensure maintenance and production continuity.
Requirement :
Education: Diploma or Higher Nitec in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or related technical discipline.
Experience: 3- 5 years in pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical, or cleanroom-regulated industries. Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills. GMP experience and validation knowledge preferred. Exposure to greenfield projects is an advantage.
Technical Skills:
Hands-on experience with CMMS (e.g., Maximo).
Proficient in Microsoft Office; knowledge of planning tools (e.g., MS Project) is a plus.
Expertise in HVAC commissioning, qualification, and lifecycle management under GMP.
Solid understanding of HVAC systems for controlled environments, refrigeration, and clean air devices.
Ability to interpret P&ID diagrams, Air Flow Diagrams, and Sequence of Operation documents.
Skilled in system walkdowns, inspections, maintenance, and repair of HVAC equipment.
Certifications: Safety certifications (e.g., Work at Height, Confined Space, Risk Management) preferred.
Soft Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, proactive and self-driven, with a focus on continuous improvement. Analytical and problem-solving ability, attention to detail, and commitment to quality and safety. Familiarity with HAZOP and risk assessment methodologies is an advantage.
