Job description for IT Engineer / Technology Specialist - Contract at Principle One Pte. Ltd.
General Description
As a Technology Specialist in the IT Managed Services team, you are responsible for
maintaining and improving the technology environment at the client offices. You will
provide end user desktop support and server/network support.
Key Skills
Strong knowledge in Desktop and Server computing (Microsoft platforms- Office,
Outlook, Exchange), handheld devices such as iPhone
Experience in the following would be advantageous: Market data systems
(Bloomberg, Reuters), Voice systems (Avaya, Cisco, Nortel, VoIP). Server room
patching
Industry certifications would be an advantage (MCSA/MCSE, CCNA)
Required to have strong network understanding (LAN and WAN)
Daily Responsibilities
Provide daily break-fix support to clients in a professional, friendly and helpful
manner
Track and prioritise tasks
Keep the client updated regarding changes to their systems and project status
Escalate to your team leader any support issues that:
o may impact to users across an office
o may impact to ability to execute DR plans
o are taking an unexpectedly long time to resolve
o impact key users
o are recurring and may indicate an underlying infrastructure problem
Remain contactable via phone out of hours
Longer term responsibilities:
Develop an in-depth familiarity with visited client sites and capture this information in documentation form
Keeps technology skills current
Identify, suggest and implement ways to improve processes either internally or at client sites
Work experience requirements
3-5 years in a technology support role
Financial services IT experience would be an advantage but not critical
Prefer candidate with System Integrator working experience
Education Requirements
Diploma, Degree level in technology related discipline.
