About the role

Pt Island Connections International is seeking a motivated and experienced Field Instructor (Outdoor Education) to join our team in Karimun Riau Islands. This full-time role will involve leading and facilitating outdoor education programs for students, focused on developing their skills, knowledge, and personal growth through immersive experiential learning activities.

What you'll be doing

Designing and delivering engaging outdoor education programs that align with curriculum objectives

Leading groups of students in a variety of outdoor activities such as hiking, camping, kayaking, and team-building exercises

Ensuring the safety and wellbeing of students during all outdoor activities

Providing instruction and guidance to students to help them develop practical skills, problem-solving abilities, and environmental awareness

Collaborating with teachers and administrators to continuously improve the outdoor education program

Maintaining and caring for outdoor equipment and facilities

Adhering to all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations

What we're looking for

Minimum Bachelor’s Degree (preference given to Outdoor Education, Education, Sciences, Anthropology or Community Development) OR 4 years experience in Outdoor Education

Past experience in outdoor and rustic conditions; General love of the outdoors and being outside for extended periods of time

Certifications: None required, though First Aid, Child Protection Training, and others will happen on the job. Water Safety Training desired (Pool or Ocean Lifeguard certification preferred); Kayak and Ropes Course experience also desired; Active passport desired.

Fluent in Bahasa Indonesia and English, with minimum of one year recent past job experience working with foreigners

Skilled in use of Google Drive (Docs, Sheets, etc), Canva, and basic knowledge of AI usage

Active: Can walk 10+ km per day; can jog for 10 minutes without stopping; can swim 400m

Positive; high energy; disciplined; creative; brave to try new things; team-focused; active role model for  the Telunas culture and is able to articulate it clearly to others
