About our group:

The Facilities Engineering team at Seagate is responsible for ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and sustainability of critical facility and utility systems that support cleanroom manufacturing operations. Our scope includes Chiller and Cooling Tower systems, Compressed Dry Air, Vacuum, Process Cooling Water, HT/LT Electrical Distribution, and Ultra‑Pure Water (UPW). 

The team plays a vital role in sustaining Seagate’s high‑tech manufacturing environment through operational excellence, continuous improvement, and strong safety commitment. About the role - you will:

The Facilities Engineering Specialist IV is an experienced technical contributor responsible for the operation, maintenance, and reliability of complex facility systems. This role supports uninterrupted production through timely response, preventative maintenance excellence, and effective coordination with internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Facility Operations & Maintenance

Perform preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance on electrical, mechanical, and facility systems to ensure safe and reliable operations.

  • Operate and maintain mechanical, electrical, and building services systems aligned with Seagate standards and procedures.

Respond promptly to facility and equipment faults and breakdowns to minimize downtime and production impact.

Manage and resolve facility-related incidents (e.g. power trips, water leaks, cleanroom door failures).

Monitoring, Control & Reliability

  • Monitor cleanroom Critical‑to‑Quality (CTQ) parameters via SCADA systems and take prompt remedial action to prevent out‑of‑control conditions.
  • Apply strong knowledge of electrical equipment, PLC wiring concepts, and instrumentation interfacing.
  • Interpret and troubleshoot using system schematics, electrical drawings, and wiring diagrams.

Vendor & Contractor Management

Supervise and coordinate contractors for maintenance, repairs, shutdowns, and upgrade activities.

Prepare scopes of work and support vendor selection and quotation evaluation.

Ensure all vendor activities comply with workplace safety, quality, and operational requirements.

Continuous Improvement & Documentation

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance preventive maintenance strategies and system reliability.
  • Utilize computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS/FMS) to document work orders, equipment history, and project activities.

Maintain accurate records to support audits, traceability, and compliance requirements.

Shift & Operational Support

  • Support daily shift operations, ensuring effective handover and communication across shifts.

Demonstrate ownership and accountability during incident response and normal operations.

Perform additional duties as assigned to support business needs.

Project & Normal Shift Support

  • Support Project works on Normal shift and report to the Project Engineer
  • Liase with end-user and raise PR for project works including facilities upgrading, utilities installation and tool hook-up works
  • Coordinate with contractor and supervise project work including permit application and documentation
  • Prepare clear scopes of work, engage vendors, and support quotation evaluations.
  • Ensure all contractor activities comply with safety, quality, and operational requirements.

About you:

Diploma or Higher NITEC in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation/Control Engineering, or related technical disciplines.

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience for Higher NITEC holders or 3 years for Diploma holders in facilities equipment operation and maintenance.

Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Able to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Relevant experience in facilities equipment operation and maintenance within an industrial or manufacturing environment.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Ability to work rotating 12 hour shifts when required.

Your experience includes:

  • Practical knowledge or hands-on experience in one or more of the following systems:
  • Electrical Distribution Systems
  • Motor Control Centers (MCC)
  • Variable Speed Drives (VSD)
  • ACMV systems
  • Fan Filter Unit (FFU) systems
  • Vacuum and compressor systems
  • Cleanroom FFU System
  • FMS SCADA

Experience supporting cleanroom or semiconductor facilities is an advantage.

Exposure to facilities-related project work (e.g. utilities installation, A&A works, equipment hook-up) is preferred.
