Job Description: Barback - Nightclub

Position: Barback

Summary:

The Barback plays a crucial support role within the nightclub's bar operations, ensuring bartenders have everything they need to efficiently serve guests and maintain a smooth and fast-paced service environment. This position is vital for maintaining cleanliness, restocking supplies, and assisting bartenders during peak hours in a high-energy nightclub setting. The ideal candidate is energetic, organized, quick-thinking, and able to thrive in a dynamic and often loud environment.

Responsibilities:

Stocking and Restocking:

Continuously monitor and replenish all bar supplies, including liquor, beer, wine, mixers, garnishes, ice, glassware, straws, napkins, and other consumables.

Ensure all stock is organized and easily accessible for bartenders.

Rotate stock to maintain freshness and prevent spoilage.

Assist with receiving and unpacking deliveries, and storing items appropriately.

Ice Management:

Ensure all ice bins are consistently filled throughout the night.

Transport ice from storage areas to bar stations as needed.

Maintain the cleanliness of ice bins and ice scoops.

Glassware Management:

Collect empty glasses from the bar top and tables, ensuring efficient bussing of the bar area.

Wash and polish glassware promptly and ensure an adequate supply of clean glasses is available for bartenders.

Organize and store clean glassware in designated areas.

Preparation and Maintenance:

Prepare garnishes (e.g., slicing fruits, preparing olives) as needed.

Ensure the bar area is clean and organized at all times, including wiping down counters, mopping spills, and emptying trash receptacles.

Maintain the cleanliness and functionality of bar equipment.

Change kegs and restock beer coolers as required.

Bartender Assistance:

Assist bartenders with drink preparation by retrieving ingredients, opening bottles, and performing basic tasks as directed.

Respond quickly and efficiently to bartenders' requests.

Communicate effectively with bartenders regarding low stock or other needs.

Safety and Compliance:

Adhere to all health and safety regulations.

Report any spills, breakages, or safety hazards immediately.

Follow all company policies and procedures regarding alcohol service.

Teamwork:

Work collaboratively with bartenders, servers, and other nightclub staff to ensure smooth operations.

Be willing to assist in other areas as needed.

Qualifications:

Previous experience as a barback or in a similar fast-paced hospitality environment is preferred.

Ability to work in a high-energy, loud environment for extended periods, often standing and moving.

Excellent physical stamina and the ability to lift and carry heavy objects (e.g., cases of liquor, beer kegs).

Strong organizational and time-management skills.

Ability to work quickly and efficiently under pressure.

Attention to detail and a commitment to cleanliness.

Good communication and teamwork skills.

Basic knowledge of bar operations and common drink ingredients is a plus.

Must be of legal age to handle alcoholic beverages as per Indonesian law.

Flexibility to work late nights, weekends, and holidays as required by the nightclub schedule.
