The Corporate Finance Team 

At Grant Thornton, our Corporate Finance team helps a diverse client base with their M&A, capital raising, and strategic advisory needs. This leadership role provides the opportunity to shape the strategy of the practice, work in a dynamic environment, and collaborate with Grant Thornton advisory teams across Singapore and the region. 

Responsibilities 

  • Originate and develop transaction opportunities, leading client coverage efforts and sourcing M&A, capital raising, and strategic advisory mandates. 
  • Drive P&L performance through effective deal origination and execution, translating advisory mandates into revenue growth and improved profitability. 
  • Lead and oversee detailed financial analysis and modelling for M&A and capital raising transactions.  
  • Lead, review, and approve company valuations using various methods, including discounted cash flow (DCF), comparable company analysis, and precedent transactions.  
  • Lead the preparation, review, and finalisation of pitch decks, proposals, presentations, and investment memorandums for internal and external stakeholders.  
  • Oversee and manage due diligence processes by directing the gathering, analysing, and interpretation of financial data, identifying key risks and issues.  
  • Drive company, industry, market, and valuation research to support transaction execution and strategic recommendations.  
  • Engage with senior stakeholders, including clients, investors, and boards, providing strategic advice and thought leadership.  
  • Lead, coach, and mentor the Corporate Finance team, ensuring quality delivery and succession planning.  
  • Lead business development initiatives and drive the strategic growth of the Corporate Finance practice. 
  • Provide guidance and thought leadership in fundraising exercises, capital structuring, complex transactions, and cross-border deals.  
  • Lead and manage the execution of corporate finance transactions, coordinating with clients, investors, and other stakeholders. 

Qualifications & requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; MBA or professional qualification (CFA, CPA, ACA) preferred.
  • At least 10 years of relevant experience in a professional services firm, investment banking, or corporate finance, including at least 3–5 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven track record in the end-to-end execution of M&A and capital raising transactions.
  • Strong financial modelling skills and proficiency with valuation techniques.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex financial concepts to diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple transactions and teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and financial analysis tools.
