Job description for Assistant Factory Manager at Tasblock Industry Indonesia

We are looking for a highly energetic, organized, and technical Assistant Factory Manager to support the end-to-end operational management of our composite manufacturing facility in Cikande. Reporting directly to the Factory Manager, you will act as a critical bridge between strategic planning and direct floor execution, taking on a deeply hands-on role in driving plant performance.

Our plant specializes in composite manufacturing, specifically producing Sheet Molding Compound (SMC) and pultrusion profiles. The facility encompasses advanced heavy machinery including press machines and custom moulds, dedicated assembly and finishing departments, and a high-volume custom fabrication line for street furniture utilizing both CNC and manual cutting processes.

The ideal candidate will actively run day-to-day production floors, supervise the workforce, champion safety compliance, and support external stakeholder relations to ensure seamless execution from raw material intake to final delivery.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Direct Floor Production & Workflow Supervision

Support the Factory Manager in overseeing multi-stage workflows, directly tracking daily targets across the molding (SMC, pultrusion), secondary machining (CNC/manual cutting), assembly, and finishing departments.

Monitor equipment health and efficiency, working closely with maintenance to ensure optimal runtime for heavy press machines, specialized pultrusion lines, and custom moulds.

Oversee day-to-day quality checks and ground logistics, from raw material acceptance inspection to final finished good packaging and dispatch.

2. Workforce Management & On-Floor Leadership

Directly supervise shift supervisors, specialized machine operators, assembly teams, and craftsmen to maintain a disciplined and productive environment.

Manage daily shift schedules, monitor workforce attendance, allocate tasks effectively, and assist in floor level conflict resolution.

Conduct on-the-job training for workers regarding operational precision, equipment usage, and manufacturing techniques.

3. Housekeeping, Security & 5S Enforcement

Enforce strict housekeeping and 5S protocols on a daily basis across all raw material zones, production areas, cutting rooms, and finishing floors.

Work closely with the site security team to monitor access protocols, safeguarding technical tools, specialized moulds, and plant assets.

4. Safety, EHS Compliance & Documentation

Execute and enforce strict Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) procedures on the floor, identifying potential hazards around press machines and cutting environments to achieve zero accidents.

Assist the Factory Manager in maintaining and updating standard operating procedures (SOPs), production logs, quality documentation, and regulatory compliance records.

5. External & Community Liaison Support

Assist the Factory Manager in maintaining proactive, positive relations with local community neighbors and surrounding local groups.

Support communications and coordinate routine site visits from municipal or regulatory government officials to ensure constant plant compliance.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Chemical, Materials Science, or a related technical discipline).

Experience: 4+ years of hands-on experience in manufacturing operations, ideally as a Production Supervisor, Production Engineer, or Assistant Plant Manager.

Technical Expertise (Highly Preferred / Plus): Familiarity with polymers, composite materials, compression molding (SMC), pultrusion lines, industrial press machinery, and tooling/moulds. Practical exposure to CNC machinery and precision manual cutting processes is a significant advantage.

Leadership Style: Intensely "hands-on." Must prefer spending the vast majority of the workday on the factory floor directly guiding work crews and managing operational friction.

Skills: Excellent task-coordination, communication, and interpersonal skills; capable of handling local community environments and government compliance requirements effectively.

If you have the technical foundation of an engineer, the ground-level grit to manage a diverse production floor, and the capability to back up a comprehensive plant leader, we want you on our team!
