Job description for Account Executive at Habitap
Role Overview
This role is ideal for candidates with 2–3 years of accounting experience who are looking to step up and gain full-set accounting exposure. You will work closely with management to support month-end closing, inventory and project cost tracking, and gradually take ownership of the accounts.
Key Responsibilities
🔹 Accounting & Closing (with guidance)
Assist in handling full set of accounts and month-end closing including simple consolidation
Prepare accounting schedules and reconciliations
Support preparation of financial statements across multiple entities
Gradually take ownership of closing process
🔹 Review & Financial Accuracy
Review selected entries posted by Finance Executive
Ensure proper classification and completeness of transactions
Assist in identifying discrepancies and resolving issues
🔹 Inventory & Cost Support
Post inventory movements (e.g. Handover Notes / stock issuance)
Assist in inventory reconciliation and stocktake exercises
Support inventory adjustments during month-end closing
🔹 Project Costing Exposure
Assist in tracking project costs and cost allocation
Support monitoring of cost vs billing for projects
Learn to identify basic cost discrepancies and trends
🔹 Payroll & HR Coordination
Work with HR on timesheet allocation for project costing
Assist in posting payroll-related entries
🔹 Fixed Assets
Maintain fixed asset register
Assist in tracking asset additions and depreciation
🔹 Compliance & Reporting
Assist in GST reporting and audit preparation
Support liaison with external auditors and tax agents
Requirements
Diploma / Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
2–3 years of accounting experience
Basic understanding of full set accounts
Willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities
Strong attention to detail and good organisational skills
Positive attitude and ability to work in a hands-on SME environment
Exposure to accounting systems (QuickBooks)
Basic understanding of inventory or project-based environment
