Job description for Waitress at DIVINO GILI AIR
We are looking for a Waitress/Waiter for our restaurant someone who can carry a fine dining service and talk to guests about the menu and the wine list with confidence. This is not order-taking. Guests will ask what to drink with the dish and what to order tonight, and you are expected to have an answer.
Key Responsibilities
- Run the full service sequence to fine dining standard greeting, order taking, service, clearing, farewell
- Know the menu well enough to explain dishes, ingredients, and allergens without checking every time
- Take orders accurately into the POS and coordinate timing with kitchen and bar
- Set up and maintain your station: table setting, glassware, mise en place, cleanliness, and hygiene
- Handle bills and payment accurately, and close your station without shortages
- Pass guest allergies and dietary requests to the kitchen every time, and handle complaints calmly on the spot
Qualifications
- Minimum 1–2 years as waitress/waiter in fine dining, a hotel restaurant, or a premium venue
- Practical wine knowledge is required able to guide a guest through the list and suggest pairings.
- Experience in a Japanese or sushi outlet is a strong plus
- Conversational to intermediate English, you will speak with international guests every shift
- Familiar with POS systems; good grooming and professional presentation
- Willing to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays
