Job Role
- Plan and design store layouts, including window displays, floor plans, and product placement, to optimize traffic flow and showcase products effectively.
- Create eye-catching and thematic window displays to attract and intrigue passersby and draw them into the store.
- Design and set up in-store displays, focal points, and visual storytelling areas to highlight key products and collections.
- Develop visual narratives and themes that convey the brand's identity and story, using props, signage, and decor.
- Stay up-to-date with fashion trends and seasonal changes, adapting displays accordingly to keep the store fresh and exciting.
- Create planograms to guide store staff on product placement, ensuring consistency across multiple locations.
- Coordinate with merchandising and buying teams to manage inventory levels and ensure that the right products are available for displays.
- Implement effective lighting strategies and color schemes to enhance product visibility and ambiance.
- Incorporate interactive elements, such as touchscreens or digital screens, to engage customers and provide additional product information.
- Design and set up displays for sales promotions, new arrivals, and special events.
- Enhance the overall shopping experience by creating an inviting and aesthetically pleasing atmosphere that encourages exploration and purchase.
- Ensure that visual merchandising follows brand guidelines and aligns with marketing and promotional campaigns.
- Gather feedback from customers and store staff to assess the effectiveness of displays and make improvements.
Requirements
- A degree in Visual Merchandising, Fashion Merchandising, Retail Management, Interior Design, or a related field is preferred.
- Min. 5 years of experience as visual merchandiser in a fashion retail company.
- Demonstrated experience in concepting and executing VM strategies, not only display execution.
- Strong creativity with the ability to develop concepts, seasonal themes, and store-wide VM campaigns that align with brand identity.
- Skilled in creating planograms, store layout guides, and VM standards to ensure consistency across multiple locations.
- Proficiency in design tools (Photoshop, Illustrator, SketchUp, or similar) is preferred.
- Deep understanding of fashion retail trends, consumer behavior, and how VM influences purchase decisions.
- Proven ability to train, coach, and guide store teams in implementing VM guidelines effectively.
- Strong communication skills to conduct VM workshops, staff training, and regular feedback sessions.
- Hands-on in monitoring VM execution across stores, with the ability to push and ensure compliance.
- Experience in inventory coordination with merchandising/buying teams to ensure effective product availability for displays.
- Strong project management skills to plan, implement, and monitor VM rollouts within deadlines and budgets.
- Ability to analyze sales data, customer flow, and campaign performance to measure the impact of VM strategies and provide insights for improvement.
- Capable of linking VM initiatives with business outcomes (traffic, conversion, sales uplift, customer engagement)
