Job description for Upper Primary to Secondary Subject Teacher at Buana Learning
Job Description:
We are looking for a dedicated and passionate teacher to join our team to teach students from Upper Primary up to Lower Secondary level. The ideal candidate will be responsible for guiding students in English, Math, and Science, helping them understand and apply school-based content, and supporting their academic growth through structured lessons and regular progress monitoring.
Responsibilities:
Teach English, Math, and Science subjects to Upper Primary and Lower Secondary students (up to Grade 10 or equivalent).
Adapt and deliver lessons based on the students’ school curriculum (e.g., Cambridge, National, or other international standards).
Guide students in completing school assignments, projects, and homework while encouraging independence and deeper understanding.
Prepare and customize teaching materials relevant to each student's needs and academic level.
Create practice questions and exercises aligned with current school topics or upcoming assessments.
Monitor and ensure academic progress of each student through regular review and informal assessments.
Provide updates and progress reports to the Head of Teachers/Owner and parents when requested or necessary.
Maintain an organized and conducive learning environment that supports student focus and growth.
Encourage positive study habits, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
Adjust teaching strategies to accommodate different learning styles and needs.
Collaborate with the internal team to support continuous improvement in teaching practices.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field preferred.
Prior teaching or tutoring experience with Upper Primary and/or Secondary students.
Strong knowledge of English, Math, and Science concepts at the required levels.
Ability to explain concepts clearly and adjust methods based on student understanding.
Responsible, patient, and passionate about helping students learn and grow.
Good communication skills in English (spoken and written).
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Willingness to adapt to various curricula and student backgrounds.
