Job description for Trainer Coffee Academy at PT. Otten Coffee Indonesia
Join Otten Coffee Academy and help shape the next generation of baristas and coffee professionals. We are looking for a Junior Academy Instructor who is confident in front of a classroom, enjoys sharing knowledge, and is eager to inspire others through engaging coffee education.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging classroom and hands-on training sessions on coffee fundamentals, espresso, manual brewing, and café operations.
- Demonstrate and train participants on the operation and maintenance of various espresso machines and brewing equipment.
- Guide students through practical exercises while providing constructive feedback and coaching.
- Troubleshoot basic issues related to espresso machines and manual brewing equipment during training sessions.
- Prepare training materials, equipment, and classroom setup to ensure smooth learning experiences.
- Support the development and continuous improvement of training materials and educational programs.
- Collaborate with the Academy team to coordinate training schedules, workshops, and coffee-related events.
- Ensure training sessions are conducted in accordance with operational, safety, and hygiene standards.
- Represent Otten Coffee Academy professionally during public workshops, events, and educational activities.
Qualifications
- Confident in delivering presentations and facilitating both classroom and practical training sessions.
- Strong knowledge of espresso machines, including operation, training, and basic troubleshooting across multiple machine types.
- Proficient in manual coffee brewing methods, extraction techniques, equipment handling, and troubleshooting.
- Solid understanding of café/bar operations, workflow, and hygiene standards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a strong customer service mindset.
- Hospitality or Food & Beverage industry experience is preferred but not required.
- Conversational English proficiency is required; Business English proficiency is a plus.
- Proficient in Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides, and Calendar) and comfortable collaborating using shared drives and live document editing.
- Willing to work flexible hours, including weekends, based on training schedules and Academy events.
- Passionate about specialty coffee and eager to continuously learn and share knowledge.
