Position Overview
We are looking for a skilled and dedicated GPS and Dashcam Technician to join our technical operations team. This role is responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining vehicle tracking devices, advanced dashcams, and various automotive telematics systems. The ideal candidate possesses hands-on experience in automotive electronics, electrical wiring, and field troubleshooting to ensure the highest standards of installation quality and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications
• Demographics: Male, aged 20–40 years old.
• Education: Minimum Vocational High School degree (SMK) majoring in Electronics Engineering, Automotive Engineering (Teknik Kendaraan Ringan), Computer & Network Engineering (TKJ), or an equivalent technical field.
• Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience as a technician specializing in GPS tracking, dashcams, or automotive accessories (highly preferred).
• Licenses: Possession of an active and valid Class A (SIM A) and/or Class C (SIM C) driver's license.
• Mobility: Willingness to travel domestically for out-of-town business trips and field assignments.
• Core Soft Skills: Honest, disciplined, responsible, possessing strong communication skills, and capable of working effectively both independently and within a team.
Key Responsibilities
• Installation Excellence: Perform professional installations of GPS tracking systems, dashcams, and telematics equipment on light and heavy vehicles in accordance with company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Testing & Commissioning: Conduct system commissioning and device testing post-installation to verify proper functionality and connectivity.
• Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Execute field maintenance, diagnostic checks, and swift troubleshooting of hardware or wiring issues.
• Documentation & Reporting: Create comprehensive installation documentation, including clear photo evidence and detailed job reports.
• Customer Education: Guide and educate clients on how to utilize the hardware systems and basic monitoring applications.
• Quality Assurance: Maintain excellent workmanship quality to maximize customer satisfaction and consistently meet daily installation targets.
Technical Competencies
• Proficient understanding of 12V and 24V vehicle electrical systems.
• Ability to read and interpret vehicle wiring diagrams.
• Hands-on capability in installing GPS tracking devices on both light vehicles and heavy equipment.
• Competence in installing Dashcams, MDVRs, mobile CCTV, and other telematics hardware.
• Proficient in using a multimeter to test voltage, current, and wire continuity.
• Strong troubleshooting skills for hardware and wiring faults in GPS and Dashcam systems.
• Experience in configuring and installing relays, buzzers, RFID readers, fuel sensors, TPMS, and other vehicular sensors is a significant advantage.
• Ability to utilize GPS monitoring applications and hardware configuration software.
Preferred Qualifications (Value Add)
• Experience handling premium telematics brands such as Teltonika, Arvento, Ruptela, Queclink, or similar equipment.
• Valid certification in automotive mechanics or vehicle electrical systems.
• Familiarity with CAN-BUS and FMS systems in commercial vehicles.
• Prior experience handling installations for logistics fleets, mining vehicles, buses, or heavy machinery.
Success Metrics (Performance Targets)
• Installation Success Rate: Maintain a minimum 98% successful installation rate.
• Work Revision Rate: Keep installation error or rework rates below 2%.
• Reporting Compliance: Deliver 100% complete job documentation according to company standards.
• SLA Alignment: Meet or exceed company Service Level Agreements (SLA) for troubleshooting and support response times.
